CHIMNEY SETTING AT WORKMAN HOUSE NORTHEAST WING
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of the setting of the replacement chimney at the northeast wing of the Workman House, 4 January 1979. The chimney is at the center set into place at the roofline and attached at the top to the pulley and cable or a crane, the arm of which extends from the lower left corner. There is a dark-colored tarp on the roof of the house, in protection for rainy weather. The east facade of the house, includes the recently reconstructed section where the original adobe wall collapsed in 1977. The cement block, reconstructed brick at the second floor and other reconstructed details are shown before replastering was done. At the bottom a couple of construction workers in yellow safety helmets stand and watch the procedure. An inscription in pencil at the bottom of the object reads "Set down chimney at North East Side. 1/4/78." In good condition, the artifact has little or no indication of wear or damage.
