A real photo postcard of Chinatown, Los Angeles, postmarked 28 August 1909. The image shows several commercial buildings in the Chinatown area east of the Plaza. To the right are some Chinese characters and a statement by the writer of the message that these were written by a Chinese fortune teller and mean "Happy New Year from Los A. Cal." A longer message is on the back, along with two one-cent stamps, a cancellation stamp, and a postmark. With soiling, smeared ink, edge wear, and some creases, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
