Description
A cabinet card photograph of Chinese participants in a Los Angeles parade, probably La Fiesta de Los Angeles, 1896. The photographer stood on the east side of Main Street close to Fifth Street looking northwest toward the Van Nuys Hotel at Main and Fourth. About ten Chinese men are walking along the street and it appears that a Chinese dragon is being carried by others in their group behind them. Spectators stand on both sides of the street with a pedestrian crossing near the photographer. With a slight curvature to the matte and a ghost image from another photo on the reverse, the condition is good.
