Description
A cabinet card photograph of Chinese participants in a Los Angeles parade, probably La Fiesta de Los Angeles, 1896. The photographer stood on the east side of Main Street close to Fifth Street looking northwest toward the Van Nuys Hotel at Main and Fourth. Chinese men are marching in formation, most of them in dark traditional clothing and carrying sticks. Spectators stand on both sides of the street and there appears to be a grandstand with seated observers in front of a house on the west side of the street. With a slight curvature to the matte and a ghost image from item .3 of this accession on the reverse, the condition is good.
