"Christmas Books," by Charles Dickens (London: Chapman and Hall,) 1852. This "cheap edition" was the first issue by Dickens of the popular Christmas series that began with individually-sold volumes with "A Christmas Carol" in 1843 and continued through 1848. Other works include "The Chimes" (1844); "The Cricket on the Hearth" (1845); "The Battle of Life" (1846); and "The Haunted Man" (1848). The work has marbled and leather boards with a pasted black title label on the spine and is in fair condition with rubbing, scratches and abrasions to the boards and some foxed and soiled pages.
