Color: Black; Red; White An envelope used to mail item .1, a Christmas card, 1929. The plain white envelope with a triangular shaped flap on the reverse is addressed, in dark ink, at the front center to "Miss Mildred Barrett / Brookfield / Mass" and has a postmark from Stafford Springs, Connecticut, dated 23 December 1929 at 8:00 a.m. A red two-cent stamp with an image of George Washington is adjacent to the postmark at the upper right corner. On the outside of the rear flap is the address "# 21 Fisk Ave / Stafford Springs / Conn" though the sender is only identified in the card as Aunt Emily. With edge wear, some tears, especially on the rear flap, stamp ink stains and foxing, the artifact is in fair condition.
