A Christmas card (a) with a tissue sheet (b) from Maria Boyle Workman to the Temple sons, ca. 1926. The two-sided item has an image of a group of persons on or near a horse-drawn coach in a wintry forest scene and there is holly and a gold border around the scene. Under this is the message "Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year." In an embossed panel towards the bottom is the printed name "MRS. WILLIAM H. WORKMAN SR." On the reverse top is an ink inscription from Mrs. Workman reading "To you and your brothers a / Merry Christmas, from all of us." Given that the reference is to all three Temple sons, it is assumed the card dates to 1926 or later, when all three were in Massachusetts. The tissue is a standard ribbed sheet and has some tears and small stains. Aside from light surface soiling, there are no other marks of wear or damage and the overall condition is good.
