A City of Los Angeles Water Works bond, issued 1 November 1905. The item, for a value of $1,000, has a number, maturity date of 1 November 1936, text, stamped city seal, statements from the United States Mortgage and Trust Company concerning the legality and issuing of the series of 2,000 bonds, and signatures of Mayor Owen McAleer and City Treasurer William H. Workman, which latter is also on the reverse concerning registration. Stamps from November 1936 certify the payment of the principal to the owner and the cancellation represented by holes punched in the bond. With some yellowing, a half -fold, and creases, the condition is good.Lexicon
