CLOSE-UP OF A HORSE-DRAWN GRADING TEAM, EL MONTEEntry/Object ID
2005.477.1.2Description
PHOTOGRAPH, CLOSE-UP OF A HORSE-DRAWN GRADING TEAM, EL MONTE, 1911. The view shows what seems to be a grading team, with a man walking behind the team. The work could have been for an access road on a ranch, probably the Cleminson. Aside from the flattened dirt area, there are some trees, looking like some fruit or nut trees in the background. On the reverse is the pencil inscription "about 1911 / Uncle Geo. / Grader," meaning, it seems, George Cleminson. See item .1 for a related image. With little indication of wear or damage, the condition is good.Lexicon
