Description

CLOSEUP OF THE BURIAL PLOT GATE, EL CAMPO SANTO Color: Brown; Green A close-up color photograph of the cast-iron entrance gate to the burial plot in El Campo Santo, ca. 1980. The front of the gate takes up almost the entire view and shows the decorative elements, including the top cross and vine-like designs emanating from its base. More vine-like designs are in the square panel below this, with a sunburst design in the center and the Latin initials for Jesus Christ, "I. H. S." in the middle. A cross is located at the center of the crossbar of the H while a three-pronged design is below the initials. A little of the support posts are noted and behind the gate can be seen a little of the grass lawn in the plot. With little indication of damage or wear, the photograph is in good condition.
