Description

Color: Green An empty Coca-Cola glass bottle, ca. 1920s, but possibly a modern item. The clear bottle with a tinge of green color is the classic shape with fluted sides and the script name of the company at the center on two sections. Below the name in one area is "TRADE MARK REGISTERED / MIN CONTENTS 6 FL. OZS," while below the name in the other section is "TRADE MARK REGISTERED / BOTTLE PAT'D DEC 25, 1923." On the bottom are the words "LOS ANGELES / CA" indicating where the bottle was produced. There is a double-lipped mouth and the fluting is on either end of the center stamping where the name is. On one side near the bottom is "89," "14," and "db." The bottle had a black stamp reading "CT NY 5 CENTS," which was the possible indicator for a modern dating. This stamp was removed during accessioning for exhibition purposes. Another bottle is in the collection and is item 99.57.1.1. Aside from some grime on one portion, the bottle is in good condition.
