A "Columbia Grafonola" phonograph player made by American Graphophone in 1917. It is a self-contained portable phonograph with a wooden body that has a louvered front for a speaker, a felt covered turntable on top, adjustable speed lever at front left, handcrank on the right side, and a swing arm attached to the back with four screws. The company's logo is stenciled on center left side of the body. Two pieces of paper are glued to the bottom. One is patent information and the other is the World War I luxury tax disclaimer for 1917. There is a small piece of metal missing from the arm. Arm has been polished recently. The felt is faded and has tiny holes. Paper labels are very brittle. Overall appearance is good.Lexicon
