Color: Black; Green
A bag which contained a 78-rpm recording including "Button Up Your Overcoat" and "My Lucky Star," written by DeSylva, Henderson, and Brown and performed by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra, issued by the Columbia label, 1736-D (147926 and 147950), February 1929. It is believed that the bag is original to the record and it has a flap which was secured by string attached to a grommet on the flap and one on the body of the bag. On the front is a pastoral image of a Pan-like figure in a mountainous area with lambs grazing and rays of light illuminating the sky. There are two shields, one of which has the Columbia logo and phrasing for its "new Process" means of recording. The second shield, which is below and to the right of the first, has room for the stamp of the seller, a radio shop in northern California. Vertical lines are part of the design of the bag, which has no labeling on the reverse. With overall brittleness, many creases, dented corners, soiling, discoloration, folds, and tears on the flap, the artifact is in poor condition.Lexicon
