Description

Color: Blue, silver A comb, part of a 12-piece blue enamel dresser set, ca. 1920s. There is a 1/2" wide handle with sterling silver rim and a blue enamel top and underside, which have a radial-line design emanating from a center point and forming horizontal lines toward the end of the handle. The comb frame and teeth are of brown and yellow celluloid to simulate tortoise shell and half of the teeth are thicker and wider-spaced and half are thinner and closely compacted. A maker's mark with an engraved "F & B" is at one end of the edge of the handle and "STERLING" is on the other end. In good condition, the artifact has scratches on the silver portion of the handle.
