Description

Color: Black; Brown "Commercial Law," by P. B. S. Peters and Dwight A. Pomeroy, (Cinncinati: South-Western Publishing Company, 1928.) The 468-page object has a brown fabric hardcover with the title and authors' last names on the front cover. Between these is a faded gold tinted embossed image of a scale of justice. On the spine is the title "LAW," the authors' last names and the logo of the publishing company. This revised edition of the 1916 original is a textbook on the aspects of commercial law, including contracts; negotiable instruments; guaranty and suretyship; personal property; bailments; common carriers; agency; master and servant rules; partnerships; corporations; insurance; real property; torts; business crimes; and the history of a lawsuit. There are also sections on legal maxims, a legal term glossary, and an index. There are a few dozen illustrations, as well. This is an identical item to 93.17.1.1. With spine abrasions; dented cover corners; light soiling on the covers; the faded gold embossed design on the front cover; marks and inscriptions on the inside flyleaf; and a moldy smell, the object is in good overall condition.
