Description

Floor Tile: One piece of floor tile, made of concrete with a golden yellow glaze. Some of the grouting material is adhered to one edge of the bottom. The tile was manufactured for use in La Casa Nueva between 1922 and 1927 and was located on the floor of the second floor east side mezzanine (later enclosed as a dormitory and used today as east wing storage.) The tile was beneath a 1930s or 1940s heater installed in the dormitory and removed 10 September 1996 for a replacement of the heating system. The condition is fair with the concrete in good condition, but the glaze is badly faded. There are also surface stains and scratches and some chipping on the edges. None
