Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the construction of the Tepee, summer 1927. Taken from the east, the building is shown with about two-thirds of the adobe wall laid and mortared. A worker is at the left standing on a scaffold or boards stretched across work horses. The wood framing for the triptych window and door are visible while a circular wooden frame is inside the structure to guide the laying of adobes. In the foreground right is a pile of dirt with an adobe planter behind it and at the center is a large box with tool in it, this probably being the adobe mixing box. At the left foreground are two other work horses. Behind the Tepee is a large palm tree and small portions of the Mission Walkway are also noticeable in the background. At the reverse top in pencil is the inscription "Source - Bob Brown", while toward the right center is a stamp from the photo developer with the process "Enamelo", the date "AUG 15 1927" and the developer's name "WEBBS" located in San Jose. At the bottom right is a stamp with the number "636" and over it, in pencil, the number "40." Also stamped on the back at various points is the word "VELOX." With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
