Description

Color: Black; White A black and white negative of the construction of the Tepee, summer 1927. Taken from the east, the building is shown with about two-thirds of the adobe wall laid and mortared. A worker is at the left standing on a scaffold or boards stretched across work horses. The wood framing for the triptych window and door are visible while a circular wooden frame is inside the structure to guide the laying of adobes. In the foreground right is a pile of dirt with an adobe planter behind it and at the center is a large box with tool in it, this probably being the adobe mixing box. At the left foreground are two other work horses. Behind the Tepee is a large palm tree and small portions of the Mission Walkway are also noticeable in the background. The artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
