Book: "Cookbook" by the Home Economics Department, Covina Woman's Club (Covina: n.p., 1926.) A softcover book with a brown cover. The front has a poppy at the center with the orange flower and green stem and leaves. Above this is "Covina Woman's Club" in dark green ink. On the back are three advertisements from nurseries in Ontario, La Verne, and San Dimas. There is nothing on the spine. The book contains recipes utilizing citrus; fish and meats; vegetables; relishes and preserves; breads; salads; puddings and sauces; and desserts among others. Presumably, the recipes were submitted by members of the Covina Woman's Club. Purchased from Dawson's Book Shop, Los Angeles. In poor condition with much cover wear, discoloration, stains, and creases, though the pages are generally in good condition with some stains. At the center top of the front cover in pencil is, "Kirtlan."
