Color: Brown; Green; Red; White
A color photograph of La Casa Nueva's courtyard, ca. 1981. At the left of the center is the fountain, which has two round millstones as its center piece. Across the back and front of the fountain is a hedge and, also at the front, is an area with ivy where there is a round planter with multi-colored flowers. The east patio of the home is along the right and is lined by five round pillars. At the end of the patio on the far right is a tree. The screen doors to the Kitchen, Walter Sr.'s Bathroom, and his bedroom are behind the pillars. The patio has a red tile awning and above this are five windows of the enclosed second floor east wing. Across the back are the three arches of the north arcade on the first floor. The screen door to the Main Hall is visible through the center arch, and the exterior stairs to the second-floor balcony are visible through the third. The wood rail of the balcony, part of Bert's Bedroom window, and the red-tile roof of the main block of the house are at the top through the leaves of the flame tree, which is at the left of the foreground. The trim on all of the windows and doors is painted light blue. Across the center of the foreground is a red-brick walk with a metal wheelchair ramp leading to the east arcade and the south lawn. With no signs of damage or wear, the image is in good condition.
