Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the courtyard at La Casa Nueva, ca. 1930s. The courtyard is at the center with many bushes and a small tree. At the middle of the courtyard is the fountain which has two round mill-stones for the center-piece. Flanking the courtyard are the home's wings both of which have round pillars lining the first floor patios. The south arch of the west wing is behind a tree at the left. The awnings of the patios are lined with tile, and above these are second-floor patios which are enclosed. Across the back is the north side of the home which has an arcade at the front of the first floor. A balcony with a wood rail is on the second floor. Behind the rail at the center is the triptych window and to the left is a screen door. The roof of the structure has tile shingles and a solar panel at the center. Across the center of the foreground is the south lawn with a tree and a round planter at the right. Across the top is a beam of the Mission Walkway trellis. At the center of the back is a stamp with the words, "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." At the bottom left is the number, "45."
