A ledger book containing records of the Cross Water Company, 1925-1943. The ledger's covers have a black border with fluer-de-lis-like designs and black chains leading from the corners to a center box. Documents are mounted on the unnumbered pages, though there are some loose pages with numbers that are inserted in the book. These documents, which are stapled or pinned to the paper, consist of annual and monthly meeting minutes; stockholders lists; and correspondence. Included in the sections from 1925-1932 in the stockholders lists is Walter P. Temple, who owned five shares (corresponding to five acres of Cross Land Company land associated with the water company shares.) The documents end in 1943, at which time it is possible that the company was bought out by another water company. The artifact is in poor condition with significant brittleness; creases; discoloration; folds; pest damage; pin holes; stains; and tears.
