Description

Color: Green; Yellow "Art-Craft Catalog 12," issued by the D. M. Campana Art Company, ca. 1920s. The 96-page artifact has a front cover with a thick black-line border, within which is a profile view of a woman with a garland and fruit in her hair. Below her is a tube of paint and a brush, while above her is the catalog number and title. The company name and address is at the bottom, as is the name of Campana, who seems to have created the cover image. On the back cover is an advertisement for "Campana's Practical Instruction Books." The inside front cover has sales terms; a statement that "under present unsettled conditions," some items were not available; and an ad for liquid rubber. The first page consists of changes and additions to the catalog, followed by product offerings, which generally include a model number, dimensions, and price. These items include china; oils; paint brushes; papers; artists' boards; china colors; kilns; pottery materials; glazes; clays; decals; art books by Campana and others; self-taught pictures, which are outlines of paintings the customer finished; plaster casts and figurines; picture frames; and tools and general supplies. An ad for painting and drawing correspondence courses is at the back, as is an index on the inside back cover. Between pages 2 and 3 are two order blanks joined together, though another and an envelope that were loose are items 1.2 and 1.3. While there is some edge wear and light fading on the cover, the document is in good condition.
