A deed of trust issued by Title Insurance and Trust Company of Los Angeles and Prudential Insurance Company of America with Weenona Hall Creager regarding property in the Rancho Providencia or Scott Tract, Glendale, 14 December 1929. The front panel has the document title, with a stamp at the top right from the Thomas Mortgage Company and the loan number and property owner's name. Typed below are the names of Creager and the Title Insurance and Trust Company, with Prudential's name preprinted underneath. The date is at the center, followed by incomplete recording information. The inside first page is the contract with date; property owner's name; location; indebtedness amount; terms of payment; and property owner's signature. At the bottom is the indenture beginning, with the property description continuing on the back and to the front of the second page. At the end, near the bottom, is the property owner's signature; recording location; date; and notary public statement. The back has mailing instructions to the Thomas Mortgage Company at the National City Bank Building (built by a syndicate, including Walter P. Temple) in Los Angeles. The property in Glendale was owned in the 1860s by William Workman. Written in red ink on the front is "Cancelled" underlined. Over this in pencil is "do not use." On the top of the first page inside over the name of the property owner is the same word, "Cancelled", in red ink. This was also done at the bottom of the second page. With a vertical half-fold; some creases; and slight discoloration, the document is in good condition.Lexicon
