Description

DELGADO AND HIGUERA FAMILIES AND ALTAR SOCIETY PHOTOS Color: Black; White A proof sheet with reproduction of three (3) strip negatives containing eighteen exposures of the Higuera and Delgado families and the St. Joseph's Altar Society party at La Casa Nueva, 1920s. Exposures 1-3 and 6-8 are of the altar society event with the group posed in La Casa Nueva's courtyard. The first three views shows the group as viewed from the southeast, while the second three feature persons in slightly different poses and seen from the southwest. Images 4-5 are of the Delgado home, residence of employees of the Temple family, situated near San Jose Creek. The one-story adobe has tile roofing on the wall eges and a wood-covered porch. Exposures 9-10 are of the Delgado family, including mother Eulalia and children Benjamin, Gabino, and Frances, posed in the La Casa Nueva courtyard near Mrs. Bassity's bedroom. Images 11-12 are of Pedro Delgado and, probably, Eulalia and Frances Delgado at the front of the Delgado home. Exposures 13-14 are of Gabino Delgado and Antonio Brazoo at the back of the Delgado home posed with their guitar and clarinet, respectively, while images 15-16 are of Benjamin Delgado posed in the same place with his guitar. The last two exposures are of Manuel Higuera standing near the ranch swimming pool. As a newly created item, the object is in mint condition. Copy of negatives by Paul Spitzzzeri.
