Description

DELGADO RESIDENCE AND PUMP HOUSE AT THE WORKMAN HOMESTEAD Color: Black; White A negative of the Delgado residence and adjacent pump house at the Homestead, ca. 1920s. The view is from the northeast and shows the front or north elevation of the adobe house, which is of a rectangular shape with a flat roof, decorative tile edging at the roof, a wooden sloped porch cover, and some landscaping in the front, including two palm trees. At the right is the pump house, which is more of a square shape, but looks similar to the house, although with doors that appear to be made of poles with wood supports. There are some small plants in the foreground, which may be planted food crops of some type and there are taller trees, perhaps walnuts, in the background. The location of these structures was adjacent to the north bank of San Jose Creek at the southern end of the ranch. Other than non-intrusive darkening on the bottom edge, there seems to be no wear or damage and the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
