The text of 46 pages includes a pullout fashion page [partial color] of new styles for October, 1870; music and poems; illustrations; and 4 pages of advertising followed by a supplement called "Prang's Chromo - a Journal of Popular Art". Subjects include current fashion [dress, accessories & hair]; and household furnishings. Back over is an advertisement for "Mme. Demorest's Emporium of Fashions" in New York City. Paper is becoming brittle and has tears around the edges. Acid burns and soiling. Page 314 is missing. Overall physical condition and appearance is fair. Mme. Demorest's Mirror of Fashions. Fashion - Its Utility and Beauty rather than its Frivolity and Extravagance [printed on front cover].
