DESCENDANTS' DAY GROUP, LA CASA NUEVA COURTYARD
Color: Brown; Green; Red; White
A color photograph of descendants of the Rowland, Temple and Workman families at Descendants' Day, 25 April 1981. Taken the week before the opening of the Homestead Museum to the public, the image shows some 100 persons gathered in the La Casa Nueva Courtyard. In the background is the house, including the west wing, the courtyard balcony and sections of the roof. In the foreground is a grass lawn and adobe planter. Parts of several trees are also in the view. On the bottom right corner of the reverse is the inscription, in dark ink, "Source: Arnold Shulman Photography / Date photo taken: April 25, 1981 / 'Descendants Day'." Initials next to this are of a former museum curator. There are a few creases in the paper, but otherwise the image is in good condition.
