"Desmonds" retail catalog, ca. 1920s. The eight-page booklet has printing at the top that reads "PERSONAL MAIL SERVICE / Desmonds / SPRING NEAR SIXTH / LOS ANGELES." At center is an illustration of an eight-story concrete structure that has many windows on the top floors, ornate trim, and an awning over the main entrance where a crowd is gathered. Several automobiles are parked along the street. At the bottom is an identification of the building which was the new Desmonds store slated to open the September after the printing of the catalog. Listed in the catalog are hats, handkerchiefs, hose, men's wear, women's wear, boy's clothing, and shoes. Black and white photographs and illustrations are included. In good condition, the object has some creases, dogeared corners, light soiling, some discoloration to the paper, and light pest damage.Lexicon
