Description

DETAIL OF AREA ABOVE EAST SIDE DOOR, NORTH PORCH OF THE WORKMAN HOUSE Color: Brown; White A color polaroid photograph of an area near the east door on the north porch of the Workman House, 16 June 1978. The detail is of the section at the northwest corner of the door, the frame of which is at the lower right of the image. At the bottom is some of the plaster, most of which was stripped off the wall. Some of the "granite block" decorative work is visible. At the center and top is the exposed adobe wall. Near the corner of the door frame is a part of the lintel--this was enclosed in the exhibit window during restoration. On the reverse is the ink inscription "Workman Residence / Front (north) porch / East side - detail / of orig. stripped adobe / photo by archt 6/16/78." Beneath this is a stamp for restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number, covered by a piece of tape. There is little indication of wear or damage and the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
