Description
DETAIL OF CALIFORNIA FLAG PANEL, EDGAR'S BEDROOM SOUTH WINDOW
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of a close-up from the La Casa Nueva Edgar's Bedroom south window showing the California bear from the state flag, ca. 1980. The image is within a leaded shield and shows the California grizzly bear with one foreleg lifted and, to its left, a star--this being representative of the Bear Flag Republic of 1846. Below this are five vertical stripes. The panel is surrounded by diagonal leading, creating geometric patterns. Through the glass, although fuzzily seen, is part of the stair rail and balcony rail and posts behind the room. In good condition, the artifact shows little indication of wear or damage.
