Description
DETAIL OF "DON QUIXOTE MEETS THE PRINCESS" PANEL, LCN LIBRARY
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of a detail from the La Casa Nueva Library west window showing a scene from "Don Quixote," ca. 1980. The close-up shows a panel with the caption "Don Quixote meets the Princess," above which is the protagonist of Miguel Cervantes' novel with his arms outstretched toward the princess, who is on her knees and arms extended towards Quixote. At left is a man in a cape and feathered hat, possibly a retainer of the princess, while a man at right is probably Sancho Panza, Quixote's manservant. The image's background includes mountains and trees. A border of glass and horizontal and vertical leading borders the scene and there are horizontal wood supports at top and bottom with diagonal leading partially visible above and below. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
