Description

DETAIL OF WOOD CARVING OVER THE AGNES TEMPLE WINDOW, LCN MAIN HALL Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of a detail of wood carving from the top of the Agnes Temple window in the La Casa Nueva Main Hall, ca. 1975. The carving is at the top of the curvature in the wood frame and seems to feature a face or perhaps a floral pattern with vine or leaf like scrolls on the sides. The enlargement of the image makes it difficult to make out details. Other than the curvature of the wood frame and the section of wood below the carving, a very small portion of the window is at the bottom of the image, as well. On the reverse center top is, in blue ink and underlined twice, the word "TOP," while the word "BOTTOM," also underlined twice is at the bottom center. At the upper right is the inscription, in blue ink, "Temple Mansion / Entry Side Window / Closeup of carving detail / over window of / Agnes Temple. / Full Scale." Below this, in black ink, is "This Blow-up made from / a color transparency 4x5 / of the Agnes window (in Architect's file) / (Orig. taken by Gruen Assoc.( / The blow-up made by Jeff Tyler of Alhambra, Ca. / ca. Jan. 1979." Below this is the stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number, under which is the stamped date "NOV 14 1981." In fair condition, the object has a few small tears at the top and bottom edges and several creases. Number-Units: 1
