A diary, "Voyages de Louis Adrien Davoust," 1846. The item consists of the entries, written in French, of Davoust as he sailed from France to the United States and also includes lists, penned in Spanish, of the marriage of Davoust with María Antonia Dominguez and the births and deaths of their children, including Anita, who was the wife of John H. Temple, owner of the Homestead from 1888 to 1899, of Davoust, who died in 1892, and other family members. There are also originals and copies of clippings pasted down. With nearly detached marbled paper cover, stains, soiling, wear, dogeared corners and fragility, the condition is generally fair.
