Description

DOROTHY NERSESIAN REPAINTING PLASTER WORK ON LA CASA NUEVA FRONT PORCH Color: Brown A copy of a color polaroid photograph of Dorothy Nersesian repainting decorative plaster work at the front porch of La Casa Nueva, 11 September 1979. Nersesian sits or crouches at right on a low stool and has a brush in her right hand, presumably applying paint to a section of the plaster, which is at the west side of the entrance and features a grape vine with three large leaves and a cluster of grapes. At her feet are sheets of newspaper, on which are brushes, a file or knife and small containers of paint. In the background are the three north french doors to the Music Room. On the reverse is an inscription in black ink, which reads "Temple Mansion / front porch wall / restoration of polychrome / plas. decorative art / by D. Nersesian / photo by archt 9/11/79." Below this, covered by a piece of tape, is the stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address and telephone number. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
