Description

DRAFT DEED CONCERNING ALCATRAZ ISLAND, 18 OCTOBER 1902 Color: Black; White A draft deed concerning Alcatraz Island, 18 October 1902. The item, typed on thin legal stationery, is for the conveyance of a one-quarter interest in any funds due from a claim on the island from John H. and Anita D. Temple to Edmund Burke. The amount was to be in payment for services rendered by Burke in the bringing of a suit for the claim within a twenty-one month period. It is also noted that the Temples would agree to sell the island to the United States government for the price and terms agreed upon by other co-owners. The unsigned document is typed, except for a space left where Mrs. Temple's first name was written in ink. With one spot of foxing, creases, some light browning, and quarter folds, the overall condition is good.
