DRAFT DEED, WALTER P. TEMPLE TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, 24 APRIL 1917
Color: Black; Blue; White
A contract between Walter P. Temple and Southern California Edison Company, 24 April 1917. This appears to be a draft as it is not signed, but does have an approval stamp signed by H. W. Dennis, Construction Engineer for Edison. The agreement gives the company the right to build and use a line of electric poles on property owned by Temple and described in the text. It appears that the poles were to be placed along San Gabriel Boulevard on the northern boundary of Temple's property and also on Lincoln Boulevard, running through Temple's property on the west, but this last description is unclear. There is no indication as to a price paid for the easement. Typed on legal paper, the artifact is stapled at three places on the top edge to a blue-colored folio. With indents at the bottom and rust stains from the staples, horizontal quarter folds, creases, and discoloration to the paper, as well as tears, creases, and dents to the cover, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
