Description

Drafts of letters by F.P.F. Temple to Jonathan Temple, 7 June 1858, and to Thornton Sanborn, 8 June 1858. The first noted recent letters received, mentioned an illness of Antonia Margarita Workman de Temple, and announced the birth of another son, David Harrison (the second of that name, the first having died in 1856 at age 3), on 4 April. Also mentioned was a dispute over Jonathan's cattle on Manuel Dominguez' Rancho San Pedro and a need for money sent to forward a letter from London to Jonathan (presumably in Paris.) The missive to F.P.F.'s nephew and employee advises that cattle hides be sold at the price suggested and that Gabriel Allen should receive a share of the rent for part of a building owned by Temple and Allen. Temple also mentioned hearing from Jonathan from Paris and talked of settling accounts with a vaquero. With stains, a minor tear, creases, and light wear, the condition is fair.
