99.38.1.10Description
Color: Black; White
A black and white copy negative of the Governor Dummer Academy football team, ca. 1928. The original print was photographed on a copy stand. The group is posed on a field and wearing their uniforms, dark with striped sleeves, except for two of the eleven who have white shirts. Two of the players wear their helmets and the player in the front with the white shirt, third from right, has a football in front of him. Far in the background are some trees, but there is a large amount of grass around the team. Among the players are Edgar Temple, second from right in the front row, and Walter P. Temple, Jr., in the white on the far left of the second row. On the back of the original print is a penciled inscription "c. 1929 [this is not possible, because the Temple boys graduated in June 1929 and football is a fall sport, so probably 1928] Demmer [sic] Academy; Edgar 2nd from right (bottom / row); Wally left, 2nd row." As a newly created copy negative of print 99.5.15.312, the artifact is in good condition.
