Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of east side of the Mission Walkway, La Casa Nueva, 1940. The image is a reverse of the actual positioning of the walkway, so that the gate at the far left is actually at the far right from where the photographer stood looking to the north. The main wall with its arches and a built-in bench in the foreground is at left. One sconce attached to the wall is toward the foreground at upper left. To the right are the support columns, along the top of which are wood header beams. These are topped by beams extending from the main wall and across these are thinner beams. Though there are some grape vines growing on this cover, they are few and are either relatively new plantings or pruned back. Along the main wall and next to the columns are a variety of small shrubs and bushes. On the reverse upper right is the pencil inscription "67% / 2A / Terri," while at lower left is the black pen inscription "+13 - 145 / 28 - 175." These, evidently, are instructions for reproduction. Though there is some surface soiling on the reverse, the artifact is in good condition.
