Description

Color: Black; Red; White "Easy Lessons in Auction Bridge" a pamphlet issued by the U. S. Playing Card Company, 1921. The 120-page publication has an image on the front cover in color with a red background showing two couples at a square table playing auction bridge. The title, in black ink, is just below and to the right of the image, while on the reverse is the logo of the playing card company. An index at the front gives the contents including rules of the game, instructions on bidding, duplicating, leads, informatory doubles, bidding, redoubling, card values, and other components of the game. There is an introduction to the game at the beginning and a glossary of terms at the back. Advertisements for books on other card games and for Bicycle brand and Congress brand playing cards are also at the back. There is some fairly extensive surface soiling and creasing to the cover and the binding has come loose from the front cover, so the object is in fair condition.
