Description

Color: Black; Red; White A brochure advertising the Edison Building, Alhambra, ca. 1927. The front panel of the object has a drawing of the building, which was completed by the Temple Estate Company in spring 1927, at the top within a red floral border. Under this is "Profitable / Office Space / in / prosperous / Alhambra." The rear panel has the building name and phrase "in the heart of / Prosperity" under a map, within the same floral border as on the front, showing the building and Alhambra within the San Gabriel Valley. When opened to a three-panel center, a drawing of the building occupies two panels that have an orange background. The panel to the left gives information on the structure. When fully opened, there is more information lauding the architecture and features in the building, along with a layout of a floor and the configuration of office space, along with elevations, stairways, restrooms, and other features. At the left is a list of advantages Alhambra offered to tenants, including population and business figures and community conditions. One other panel on the reverse, and separate from others mentioned, gives information about inspecting the building, its address, telephone numbers, and the name of the management company, Walshe Management. With pest damage in several places, a stain on the front panel, creases, tears along folds, dented corners, and browning, the overall condition is fair.
