Color: Black; White
A letter from Edmund Burke to W. I. Gilbert, 9 June 1916. The item, on the letterhead of the Safety Advertising Match Company, is typed and concerns letters Burke had written seeking the opinion of the U. S. Attorney General about compensation claims for cases such as Alcatraz Island. It appears Gilbert was representing A. K. Maropoulos, who had an interest in the island and was a plaintiff in a civil action against Burke (see item .8) Burke suggested that Maropoulos sign the letter to the Attorney General and that Gilbert assist in this. Reference is made to items .9 and .10 in this accession, as well. With staple holes at the upper left, horizontal and vertical folds, and page browning, the document is in fair condition.
