Color: Black; White
A letter from Edmund Burke to W. N. Mills, 9 June 1916. The item, on the letterhead of the Safety Advertising Match Company, is typed and concerns an enclosed letter (see item .10) to the U. S. Attorney General about seeking assistance in a land claim compensation case concerning Alcatraz Island. Burke offers the opinion to Mills, a Washington, D. C. attorney and former U. S. Assistant Attorney General, that the seizure of the island by the government was not valid. Burke's signature is in ink at the bottom right and the old address of the match company is crossed out and the new address written to the right in ink. With staple holes at the upper left, horizontal and vertical folds, and page browning, the document is in fair condition.
