Description

Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the reconstruction of the El Campo Santo east wall, ca. 1979. A section of the wall toward the northern end is the focus. Two pallets of bricks sit in the dirt and, in between them, is a flat table used for the laying of the bricks on the wall, which seems to be nearly completed, except for a crown. A green hose runs in front of the pallets across the photograph. Part of the inside of the cemetery, including the lawn, an arbor vitae, sidewalk and bushes are in view. It appears the north wall had recently been completed--this is at the right of the image. An inscription in pencil at the bottom of the object reads "East End Cemetery Wall." In good condition, the artifact shows little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
