Color: Black; White
A black and white reproduction photograph of the desecrated El Campo cemetery, ca. 1906. This is a copy photo of an original snapshot with a dark-colored background for the copy work visible on three edges. In near ruins, the cemetery is seen from inside the grounds looking northwest. Rubble, parts of the framing posts and stacked bricks from the removal of the original perimeter wall are visible at the center right, while a portion of the remaining original west wall is seen at the center and left of center. Weeds and little else are notable in the foreground part of the cemetery, while in the background right can be seen part of the surrounding land to the north. On the reverse is, in black ink, the inscription: "WORKMAN CEMETERY / -orig. west wall / -copy of a photo from Walter Temple, Jr's family collection / -ca. 1900 / copy neg. on file w/architect's office." Under this is the stamp of Homestead restoration architect Raymond Girvigian and a date stamp reading "NOV 14 1981." A piece of adhesive tape covers these two stamps, but there is little indication of wear or damage to the piece, which is in good condition.
