Elks Parade on Broadway, Los Angeles, 1909. The view shows a marching band moving down the street, between 7th and 8th streets, with spectators observing from the sidewalks lining the streets and from fire escapes, windows, and roofs of nearby commercial buildings. There are also many decorations along the route, consisting of such things as Elks insignias and American flags and bunting. On the reverse is a pencil inscription "Elks parade on / Broadway." In fair condition, the photo has creases, siling, dogeared corners, and a significant loss at the upper left corner, intruding onto portions of the image.Lexicon
