A stereoscopic photograph of Eulalia Perez de Guillen, published by Isaiah Taber, ca. 1878. The image shows the centenarian woman seated on a chair at the right in a garden. Behind her is a two-story home, apparently the first floor made of adobe and a second floor wood frame addition, with another woman seated next to it. The structure is assumed to be an adobe near the Mission San Gabriel. The former "keeper of the keys" at Mission San Gabriel died in 1878, allegedly aged 140, but more likely 112. The photo, though published by San Francisco-based Taber, was probably taken by Carleton Watkins, whose photos Taber purchased. With edge rubbing, some small stains, soiling and slight mount curving, the condition is good.Lexicon
