Description

EVERGREEN LANE LOOKING EAST TOWARD EL CAMPO SANTO CEMETERY Color: Black; White A photograph of Evergreen Lane looking toward El Campo Santo Cemetery, ca. 1932. Taken from approximately where the garage was on the right and where the swimming pool/reservoir was on the left, the image shows the unpaved road with concrete curbing and flanked by palm trees, evergreen trees of some kind, and bushes. In the distance is a section of the heart-shaped planter and sentinel palm tree planted within it. Behind that is a glimpse at the plant-covered entrnace to the cemetery and part of the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum. It is assumed from the shadows of the trees on the road that the image was taken in an afternoon. The photograph has a crinkled edge and there is a rectangular piece with two holes for mounting into a paper album, which is item 49.2. In good condition overall, the item has only minor reverse discoloration and paper bowing. Number-Units: 1
