2004.161.1.1Description
Color: Blue; White
A brochure for Exposition Park, Los Angeles, late 1920s. The item's front cover has the park name at the top and the city and state at the bottom, the two being joined by a series of dotted lines. When opened, there is text indicating that the 130-acre park, formerly Agricultural Park, was owned by the state in the custody of the Sixth District Agricultural Association. Four "free permanent attractions" are also listed and described, including the California State Exposition Building, the precursor to today's California Science Center; the Los Angeles Museum, now the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County; the Sunken Gardens, in what was an old race track and now comprising the rose garden; and the Los Angeles Coliseum stadium, built by the Community Development Association of Los Angeles. With residue from photo album or scrapbook pages on the back; light soiling; slight discoloration; light stains; and small tears on the back from removal from a scrapbook or photo album, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
